Elgin, Texas

Sunday was a fun day! In the afternoon, my friend Kathryn and I set out on a photo expedition. We were doing her portraits, but do that, we decided to hit the countryside. We started out in the Elgin, Texas area. We explored several different areas of the town and took photos of her. We decided to do a little more exploring.

We drove around in the countryside and found these sweet donkeys. They came running to to the fence to say hello!

While driving through town, we saw this great little store. They had closed, but she opened the door and let us in. It was delightful. Lots of vintage products. Wine. Beer. Coke. A great little patio. We really enjoyed it. It is called The Owl.

The sign below was on another building in Elgin. It is a hand painted store sign for a local see, feed and fertilizer store. Very cool!

More October Photos!

Last Sunday we had the wonderful opportunity to visit with our friends from Longview. Their girls are so grown up now! Here are a few fun pics from the day.

I liked the one above so much, I had to use it for Fall Leaves. It was so hot! Taking off shoes and wading water even tempted me!

Below is my photo for hay. I realized today I am about 9 behind. I need to get busy tomorrow and play catch up!

Fall Fest at church

Had a fun time at Fall Fest tonight! We have met some wonderful people there. I am so glad we are a part of our Sunday School class! What a great bunch!
 The stars of our game!

Face Painting Interviews are very serious!

 Beautiful!!

Really, really like this pic.

The mouse was feeding the elephant peanuts - this picture just makes me laugh.

Facebook & Twitter Can Point One to the Word

Some mornings I wake up and things don't look so bright to me. I am being honest here. We are struggling financially. I am struggling to get my photography business going. We are in constant limbo as to how long his job will last. Will be here for 6 more months? 8 more months? A year? Will they have a job for him? Will they lay him off? Will they transfer him? Yes, I know God provides - He always does. He always has. I know I am not supposed to worry. I still do.
This morning I checked my Facebook and Twitter like normal. Along with all the political posts, there were some very encouraging posts that really spoke to me.  Below are a sample of the quotes posted there.
@luciswindoll: I chose you not for your strength but weakness, which shows  your need of me. Depend on Me and I'll shower peace on your path." -- Jesus Calling
@Pastor Mark: Do not be anxious about anything but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. - Phil. 4:6
@Jesus_Calling: "Take plenty of time enjoying Me, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare." Jesus Lives
From my friend Tammy Whitehurst's Joy for the Journey                                                                       Happy, glad, sad, or mad? What mood will we choose today? (Yep, no doubt it is a choice!) Regardless of what we choose, sometimes the best thing to do is not think, not imagine, not wonder, and not obsess. Sometimes we must just breathe, and have faith that God is in control and everything will work out for the best. When we realize this world cannot fill the gaping hole in our heart, we will come to the conclusion that only Jesus can refresh, restore, and renew us. (Thus, the hole in our heart is filled.) So many of us have been climbing mountains long enough...it is time to move the mountain and soar! CHOOSE JOY and watch how the day can change! Psalm 97:11-12\

The beginning and the end of everything we need in life is in believing that from the beginning to the end we are loved by God in Christ.

@SheilaWalsh
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Turning 49 and a fun weekend with my honey

This was a busy, busy week!. I started the test for an online job. It took up a lot of time for the week. I finally finished tonight. I spent some time trying to decide what to enter on the photowalk contest.
I finally cropped and re-cropped and ended up with this.

I did some catching up on the photo challenge as well.
This is for 'change' you can see where there is actually a change of color
Above and below are fall trees - the bottom one is more windmill - taken with Joy Anna in mind :)
On my Birthday I went shopping. I had a gift card. When I got to the store, I didn't have it with me. I went ahead and purchased the blouse and accessories I wanted. When I went back the next day for them to credit my account and charge my gift card, there were an abundance of birds. It was too good to pass up!

On Saturday, Dean and I decided to hit some Central Texas Festivals. We started at the Chisholm Trail event in Georgetown.

This cutie pie was chowing down on the corn!
Above is my fire photo for the photo challenge- it was at the blacksmith's area.
this little one stole the show from the bank robbers!
This is Sam Bass the Outlaw - I find it funny he just robbed the bank - the sign says the blue building is the bank, but he robbed the one behind the red door. I like it that his wanted sign is just behind his head.

Above is a gentleman from the confederate army camp. I really, really liked this photo.

Above is a chuck wagon and below is a blacksmith's hands

This is my photo of the day for broom. I am still a few photos behind on that.

After the history exhibits, we went out for catfish and checked out a car show.

We then went to Hutto and then to Pflugerville. No pics from Hutto, but here is one of the band in Pflugerville.

Today was a good day. Got to visit with some friends we haven't been with in a while and
